Initial Assessment

Initial Assessment

Prior to any commencement of therapy, an initial assessment interview must be completed with the client is essential. This will last up to one hour and will:

  • Enable the you to get a feel for what therapy involves and how it may help you. It will also enable  you to ask any questions or raise any concerns

  • Provide a time to discuss the practicalities  by looking at times, cancellations, fees, confidentiality and the general rules that both you and your therapiat must abide by.

  • Enable  the therapist to make an assessment of the your presenting problems and difficulties and decide with you the goals of therapy and areas to be worked on in future sessions.

  • More importantly, this initial session is designed for you to make an assessment of the therapist and to decide if you can work with them.

  • Please click on the intake Assessment Form to your right, print and complete. Please bring to your Assessment appointment (13 pg.).This information will help me to get to know you better and  will give us an opportunity to review the information instead of collecting it all in the assessment. This way we can get  to the life you want faster.

We will work together to determine where you want to go and create a life plan to get there. During my work with you, I may use a variety of approaches and techniques, including coaching, because my goal is to help you get back to your best life. I only see clients over the age of 18.

Self pay clients have the option to choose a 60 minute session or a 120 minute session; fee will be hourly.

Family Therapy

 Family Therapy

Family works to improve communication and relationships between parent and child. We exam behaviors that are causing friction in the relation. We will work toward a healthier relationship that will focus on the strengths of the relationship as well as individual strengths that can enhance the relationship. Parent/Child Relationship Coaching  can also include individual work with just one member of the family or conjoint work with two members of a family. At times family therapy can also include work with extended family members. Who to work with in a session is not something I decide alone; I always consult the family about the course of therapy because it is your therapy.

Couples Therapy

Relationship Issues Therapy

Relationships require work and may face moments when everyday stressors cause strain and major sources of stress may cause threaten stability issues  in the relationship.

As long as you and your partner are willing to be open and honest while addressing the issues at hand and participate in building a solution, and doing the individual and team work, most relationship issues are manageable, but when the air is thick and so many feelings are left unspoken, bad habits not addressed and pains go unhealed, the wellbeing and longevity of the relationship are in jeopardy as well as the family as a whole.

I am here to help educate, guide and help you remove negative behaviors that cause damage and replace them with solid healthy structured behaviors that you can use to rebuild your relationship. I will facilitate the uncovering of the patterns of emotions, thought, and action that are not working and offers healthy alternatives.
